All vehicles have a color identification plate that is located in various places on the vehicle depending on the model. Use the picture below to locate the color identification plate for your vehicle. BMW & Mini
Usually found: Under hood by front of strut tower (8)
If not there look: Firewall, passenger side (2), Front of strut tower (13), Wheel housing (20)
They are usually shown as a three digit number on the vehicle, such as 339.

Chevrolet
Usually found: Glove box
If not there look: Spare tire cover or wheel housing (20)
Usually three or four digits and start with a WA, such as WA9795 or without WA such as 9795. If the vehicle is two-tone there will be an “L” (for lower) or a “U” (for upper) before the numbers. Example: WA U-7154 or WA L-348D. GM usually lists two codes on every vehicle. There is usually a two digit code, such as 26.

Ford
Usually found: Driver side door jam (6)
They are usually shown as a two digit number on the vehicle, such as E9. The correct two digit code is usually listed above where it reads “Exterior paint codes”.

Honda
Usually found: Driver side door jam (6)
If not there look: Firewall, passenger side, middle, driver side (2) (3) (4), Under driver seat (5)
Variety of presentation of code eg. BG34P, NH585P-C, R78P, W101,752.

Hyundai
Usually found: Driver side door jam (6)
If not there look: Firewall, middle (3) Excel & Scoope, Under driver seat (5), Radiator support, front middle (10)
They are usually shown as a two digit number on the vehicle, such as PV or E8.

Isuzu
Usually found: Driver side door jam (6)
If not there look: Firewall, passenger side (2), Firewall middle (3), Radiator support, front middle (10), Glove box
Before 1997
Usually found: Firewall, passenger side (2) (Trooper), Firewall, driver side (4) (pick-up/Amigo), Front of strut tower (Impulse) (8)

Jaguar
Usually found: Driver side door jam (6)
If not there look: Front of driver side door (7), Radiator support passenger side(19), glove box
They are usually shown as three or four digit numbers on the vehicle, such as HFE or 779 or 1942.

Kia
Usually found: Front of driver side door (14), Under driver seat (5)
They are usually shown as a two digit number on the vehicle, such as 1C or VR.

Land Rover
Usually found: Front of driver side door (14)
If not there look: Firewall, passenger side, middle, drivers side (2) (3) (4), Radiator support (19) (10) (12)
They are usually shown as a three digit number on the vehicle, such as 638 or HCU.

Mazda
Usually found: Firewall, passenger side (2), Back compartment panel (15)
They are usually shown as two or three digit numbers on the vehicle, such as UA, D2, 15Y or A2X.

Mercedes Benz
Usually found: Driver side door jam (6), Radiator support, middle, driver side or passenger side (10) (12) (19)
If not there look: Firewall, middle (3), Back compartment panel (15)
They are usually shown as five or three digit numbers on the vehicle, such as DB481 or 744.

Mitsubishi
Usually found: Firewall, passenger side, middle or driver side) (2) (3) (4), Radiator support, passenger side, middle or driver side (19) (10) (12)
If not there look: Under dash (12)
They are usually shown as a three digit number on the vehicle, such as G13 or WWP.

Nissan
Usually found: Driver side door jam (6)
If not there look: Passenger side inner fender (1), Firewall, passenger side, middle or driver side (2) (3) (4), Under driver seat (5), Strut tower, driver side (8), Radiator support, front middle (8), Front of driver side door (14), Radiator support, passenger side (19)
They are usually shown as a three digit number on the vehicle, such as Z33 or B17.

Porsche
Usually found: Radiator support, driver or passenger sides (12) (19), Back compartment panel (15)
They are usually shown as two, three or four digit numbers on the vehicle, such as H8 or D7Z or L84R.

Saab
Usually found: Front or rear of driver side door (14) (6)
If not there look: Firewall, passenger or drivers side (2) (4), Under driver seat (5), Front of strut tower (8), Radiator support, front middle (10), Wheel housing (20)

If not there look: Front of driver side door (14)
They are usually shown as a three digit number on the vehicle, such as ZY4, Y26 or OFZ.

Toyota & Lexus
Usually found: Driver side door jam (6)
If not there look: Firewall, passenger side or middle (2) (3), Back compartment panel (15), Under driver seat (5)
They are usually shown as a three digit number on the vehicle, such as 199 or 4P9.

Volvo
Usually found: Strut tower, either side (8) (13) (17)
If not there look: Firewall, passenger or driver side (2) (4), Radiator support, driver side (12)
They are usually shown as a three digit number on the vehicle, such as 461.

 

Audi & Volkswagen
Usually found: Back compartment panel (15)
If not there look: Under dash (16)
They are usually shown as a four digit number on the vehicle, such as LC7V. It is possible that there can be a two digit code instead of or in addition to the four digit code, such as F8. Either code is correct.
